Perhaps this decision was also made out of jealously, Frieza wanting to outdo Goku’s yellow Super Saiyan form with his shinier, more powerful Golden Form. It also seems that Frieza can choose the colour of this transformation as well, making it hilarious Frieza would choose gold, always being the showman.
